VIVAnews - Victim of abduction that a Russian Consular reported had returned to his hometown Moscow. Police will follow up the investigation to Russia.
"The victim has returned to Russia last night," Director of Public Investigation at Jakarta Police Department Chief Commissioner M. Iriawan told VIVAnews on Thursday, Dec 11.
According to Iriawan, the victim had returned to Russia on 10 December 2008 at 10 pm Indonesian time. The victim was brought to Moscow at once by boarding a Lufthansa aircraft.
With regard to the kidnappers' identities, Iriawan had not yet provided detail information. According to him, police will proceed with the investigation in Russia. "We'll leave for Moscow," he said.
Police, Iriawan went on, had already cooperated with Indonesian Embassy at Russia as well as Moscow Police Department.
The abduction case against SEV was revealed after Vladimir Pronin, 45, a Consular at Russian Embassy in Jakarta reported to Jakarta Police Department on Tuesday, Dec 9.
Pronin was directly informed by victim's wife SOV. According to SOV, the incident initiated as the victim was invited to Jakarta by his business colleague initialed AEV on November 29.
SOV lost contact with her husband for two days. On 1 December 2008, SOV received a phone call from her husband using number +74959709547. During the phone call, SEV said that he was set up by a poisonous drink, which caused hime to lose consciousness.
A few moments later, SOV reveived a phone call from +6281280248411. The caller claimed to be her husband's kidnapper and requested ransom amounting to US$200 thousand. SOV said yes and transferred the demanded money to UniCredit account No:4908556003259062.
However, after the money was transferred, the kidnappers still contacted SOV and asked for more money to assure SEV's safety. Reportedly, the kidnappers had withdrawn the ransom of US$4,600 through Bank Permata of Bekasi and Jakarta branches.
